SETTING UP AN EXHIBITION WITH CROWD FUNDING.
I organised an exhibition with the I Scream Factory collective at the Hoxton Gallery, in the heart of Shoreditch, London.
With the help of fellow creatives who supported our Kickstarter campaign, we found the resources to make this show a reality. Elaine Tam and myself curated the show, which featured a collection of photographs, sculpture, and for the first time also a video installation.
The Hoxton Gallery is a converted railway arch with original exposed brick and distressed features to accentuate the artworks. The darker introspections of the exhibition was juxtaposed with the fact that ice cream is maybe the universal symbol for joy and jest.
We had one night to set it all up, thanks to everyone from Method, I Scream Factory, The Printspace, Kickstarter and Art Hop Life who joined in, helped make it happen and kept me sane. None of this would have been possible without you!
We also celebrated the launch of the new visual identity of the collective, designed by the collective’s art director Tomi Lähdesmäki.
